By accessing or using the Repairverse website (repairverse.ca) or participating in any Repairverse programs or events, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

2. Description of Services

Repairverse is a nonprofit organization that provides:

  • Repair Cafe: Community repair workshops
  • SilverTech: Digital literacy training for seniors
  • Empower & Heal: Therapeutic repair sessions
  • SecondLifeLab: Upcycling and sustainable design workshops

All services are provided on a volunteer basis and are subject to availability.

3. Repair Services Disclaimer

IMPORTANT: All repair services are provided "AS-IS" with no warranty or guarantee of any kind, expressed or implied.

  • Repairs are performed by volunteers, not professional technicians
  • There is no guarantee that items can be repaired or that repairs will be successful
  • Repairverse is not responsible for any damage to items, including damage that may occur during attempted repairs
  • Participants bring items at their own risk
  • Repairverse recommends backing up data before bringing electronic devices
  • Items under warranty should be repaired by the manufacturer instead

By participating in Repair Cafe events, you acknowledge these risks and release Repairverse and its volunteers from any liability.

4. Volunteer Conduct

All Repairverse volunteers agree to:

  • Treat all participants, volunteers, and staff with respect
  • Follow Repairverse's Code of Conduct
  • Provide honest assessments of repair possibilities
  • Maintain appropriate boundaries with vulnerable populations
  • Respect participant privacy and confidentiality
  • Follow safety protocols at all times

Violations of the Code of Conduct may result in removal from volunteer activities.

5. Website Use

When using the Repairverse website, you agree not to:

  • Submit false or misleading information
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the website
  • Use the website for any unlawful purpose
  • Transmit any viruses or harmful code
  • Interfere with the proper functioning of the website

6. Intellectual Property

All content on the Repairverse website, including text, graphics, logos, and images, is the property of Repairverse or its content suppliers and is protected by Canadian copyright laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission, except for personal, non-commercial use.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Repairverse, its directors, officers, volunteers, and agents shall not be liable for:

  • Any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Damage to or loss of items brought for repair
  • Data loss from electronic devices
  • Personal injury occurring at events (except in cases of gross negligence)
  • Any errors or omissions in website content

8. Changes to Terms

Repairverse reserves the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
